“…the cold never bothered me anyway.” -Elsa
I run hot. And by that, I don’t me I run (ha! that will be the day) I mean my internal body temperature always seems warm. Maybe this is why winter in Chicago has never bothered me. In fact, I welcome the cold temperatures. The variety of temperatures we’re subjected to throughout the year is one of the many things that makes Chicago (my home) so enjoyable to me. I believe our ability to adjust to changing temps might even make us more easily adaptable to change in general. And, let’s face it, without change life gets boring.
The photo directly below (me in my favorite Russian fur hat) was taken by my husband, Nick. The rest are mine. I hope you enjoy a brief trip to the frozen lakefront in Chicago. *Frigid air not included 🙂
“It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.” -Leon C. Megginson (interpretation of the central idea outlined in Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species”)
“The day will be what you make it, so rise like the sun, and burn.” -William C. Hannan
