Sunrise Cruise on Lake Michigan
It certainly isn’t every day that I wake up at 4:00am and head out for a sunrise cruise on Lake Michigan. One could even argue it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. An early start time wasn’t going to get in the way of this lucky chance.
I seized the (early) moments and soaked up every minute – my shutter clicking all the while. I must give a big shout out to a couple people, without whom these photos wouldn’t have been possible. Thanks to our amazing hosts, Chicago’s First Lady, and the talented @Chitecture organizers, Kyle Buckland and Nick Ulivieri.
The ever-changing light was magnificent. The water was smooth and calm. The air temperature was perfectly comfortable. And once the sun popped up from behind the horizon the city came alive in a way I had never witnessed before. It was a morning I’ll remember forever. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
